Job Description 1: Environmental / Civil Project Engineer
Position Summary A growing environmental and civil engineering consultancy in the Greater Orlando area is seeking a hands-on Environmental / Civil Project Engineer to support regulated infrastructure, water, remediation, and environmental projects. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys balancing technical design work with report writing, documentation, and coordination across complex project scopes.
The right person will be comfortable working in a highly regulated environment, contributing to client-ready deliverables, and supporting projects that may include water quality, water distribution, remediation, environmental compliance, and related civil engineering work.
Location Longwood, Florida area
Work Arrangement Primarily onsite / local to the Greater Orlando area, with in-person collaboration expected
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the planning, design, and execution of environmental and civil engineering projects
  • Prepare technical reports, calculations, specifications, and other client-facing engineering documentation
  • Contribute to water, wastewater, remediation, environmental compliance, and infrastructure-related project work
  • Assist with engineering analysis, permitting support, and regulated project documentation
  • Coordinate with internal technical staff, field teams, clients, agencies, and project stakeholders
  • Review site data, field findings, and project requirements to inform design recommendations
  • Support development of project scopes, schedules, and technical deliverables
  • Ensure work products align with applicable regulatory, quality, and client standards
  • Participate in problem solving across multidisciplinary environmental and civil projects
  • Contribute to a small-team environment where engineers are expected to stay close to the technical details of the work

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline
  • Current or recent engineering experience in environmental, civil, water / wastewater, remediation, geotechnical, or closely related infrastructure work
  • Experience producing engineering designs, technical reports, or compliance-oriented documentation
  • Ability to work effectively in a regulated, detail-oriented project environment
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to prepare clear technical deliverables
  • Based in, or able to reliably commute to, the Greater Orlando / Longwood area

Preferred Qualifications
  • EIT, FE, PE, or PE-track progression
  • Experience in consulting environments where engineers handle both technical execution and writing
  • Exposure to water quality, water reuse, water distribution, remediation, aquifer, or design-build projects
  • Familiarity with permitting, agency coordination, or environmental compliance processes
  • Experience supporting small-to-mid-sized project teams in a hands-on role
