Position Summary
The Environmental Services Technician performs daily cleaning, floor care, waste management, and laundry services to maintain a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for patients, residents, staff, and visitors. The EVS Technician follows established policies, procedures, and infection prevention protocols, and supports the Supervisor and Manager as needed to ensure efficient departmental operations.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
  • This is an hourly full time, non-exempt position. Extended hours may be necessary based on operational needs.
  • Pay Rate: $12.50/HR

Essential Functions and Duties
  • Perform cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing of patient/resident rooms, public areas, and workspaces according to organizational standards.
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies safely and efficiently.
  • May perform laundry duties, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and delivering linens and uniforms.
  • Follow infection prevention and safety protocols, including OSHA, CMS, and TJC standards.
  • Assist in setting up rooms, moving furniture, and performing light maintenance as needed.
  • Report maintenance issues, supply needs, or safety concerns to the Supervisor.
  • Document completed work and adhere to departmental checklists and quality standards.
  • Participate in training, staff meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.

General Responsibility as Required for Position
  • Responsible for acting in conformance with all facility and departmental policies and procedures including those relating to Human Resources, Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, Health and Safety regulations, Compliance requirements, Patient Rights, Confidentiality, and HIPAA. Responsible for acting in conformance with accrediting agency standards.
  • Attends department meetings as required.
  • Demonstrates accountability to accept responsibility for personal/professional growth and any required certification/licenses, if applicable.
  • Completes mandatory training and competencies annually.
