Job Description Summary Help serve the youth and make a difference in your community. Volunteers are an essential part of our youth sports programs, and we need your help to make them successful. Whether or not you have a child on the team, you are welcome to apply to become a volunteer coach.

You will become part of a dedicated team of professionals that will be challenged to learn and grow in an environment that possesses six core values: Integrity - Initiative - Empathy - Optimism - Innovation - Adaptability This is a recreational program focused on equal playing time, skill development, and creating a fun, safe, and positive environment. Volunteer Coach Benefits Account credit upon successful completion of the season (resident rate: $90) "Save 5" program allowing coaches to request up to 5 players for their team (this includes your child and player(s) who must be registered for the season) Reserved indoor practice space at local Goodyear school gyms Practice equipment provided Coaching resources available Coach polo Opportunity to earn volunteer hours Coaching Expectations Attend the in-person coaches meeting Communicate with your team and parents throughout the season (TeamSnap, phone, text, etc.) Demonstrate basic knowledge of the game and ability to teach skills and drills Interact professionally and respectfully with players, parents, coaches, officials, spectators, and staff Essential Functions Plan and lead engaging, instructional practices Teach sportsmanship and teamwork Educate participants on rules and program expectations Communicate effectively with all program participants and stakeholders Requirements Must be at least 18 years old Submit a volunteer application and pass a background check Agree to and follow the Code of Conduct Detailed information for each sport can be found by clicking this link: City of Goodyear Parks & Recreation.
