Environ Energy is seeking a Senior Energy Engineer of the NY Region to support the delivery of our engineering consulting services. This role involves conducting ASHRAE Level I & II energy audits, developing turnkey energy efficiency projects, and providing technical expertise to Environ’s clients. This role is client-facing, and will work directly with customers to identify, analyze, and implement energy-saving opportunities, and serve as a fractional On-Site Energy Manager for clients in this region. The position is remote, but requires proximity to the NY, NJ, CT tri-state region and travel to client sites for on-site assessments and project execution.

Experience and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field is required.
  • A Certified Energy Manager (CEM) is strongly preferred
  • Preference to candidates with a Professional Engineering (PE) License or ability to obtain one.
  • 5+ years of experience conducting energy/decarbonization audits, energy modeling, or energy efficiency project development.
  • Experience serving as energy manager for commercial facilities, with preference for candidates with hospital and healthcare experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, building automation controls, and energy management strategies.
  • Experience with turnkey project development, including vendor coordination and contractor management.
  • Familiarity with utility incentive programs and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed for client engagements and site visits.
Requirements:Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as fractional On-Site Energy Manager for one or more of Environ’s clients
  • Conduct ASHRAE Level I & II energy audits, including data collection, site inspections, and energy analysis.
  • Identify energy conservation measures (ECMs) and quantify potential savings.
  • Develop detailed energy assessment reports with actionable recommendations.
  • Assist in the development of turnkey energy efficiency projects, from feasibility analysis to implementation.
  • Perform technical and financial analysis of ECMs, including ROI and payback calculations.
  • Support the preparation of project proposals, including scope of work, cost estimates, and savings projections.
  • Serve as a technical expert in energy efficiency and engineering consulting engagements.
  • Communicate findings, recommendations, and implementation strategies to clients.
  • Provide ongoing support and advisory services to help clients achieve their annual energy efficiency goals.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, including ASHRAE, local building energy codes, and utility incentive programs.
  • Stay up to date on energy efficiency regulations, emerging technologies, and best practices.
  • Conduct on-site assessments at client facilities, including mechanical system inspections and data logging.
  • Travel is required to support client engagements, site visits, and project implementation.
