Job description

PBX is a pivotal part of the resort as it is providing the first impression for internal and external guests over the phone.  Strong communication skills and the ability to handle many types of situations is necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Handling all incoming telephone calls, paging system and guest messages.
  • Must use proper greeting and salutation when answering phones
  • Handling alarm and emergency situations.
  • Posting phone charges to accounts, documenting and filing.
  • Place wake up calls
  • Filing of registration cards
  • Paging out calls to appropriate departments
  • Using the TDD machine if needed
  • Placing envelopes and messages in registration cards
  • Filing of keys after check out if needed
  • Calling 911 if required
  • Paging security in the event of a fire alarm
  • Putting together of Resort key packets for arrivals
  • Filing of reservation registration forms from groups
  • Logging of all things left for guests in proper basket
  • Transferring of guest calls
  • Answering of Airport line
  • Must follow proper grooming and dress standards set forth by the Employee Handbook.
  • Good rapport with fellow employees and reflect positive attitude.
  • Complete all assignments requested of you.
  • Maintain open line of communication with supervisor

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Customer service experience, switchboard experience a plus.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

This position requires the associate to possess excellent guest service skills with a high energy level.  Individual should possess good oral and written communication skills as well as be detail oriented.  Associate should have the ability to type and input data into a computer database and be moderately familiar with Microsoft office software (Word, excel, etc.).   

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

Associate must be able to lift up to 25lbs, have good hearing and endure finger dexterity.

 

TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS

 

The ability to work unsupervised for long periods of time, to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and work well under pressure is a must.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position requires one to be indoors.  Individual may have to cope with varying noise levels.
