Job description

Geo-Logic Associates (GLA) is a privately-held, multidisciplinary, geologic, geotechnical, hydrogeologic, civil, and environmental consulting firm. Our highly experienced professionals manage projects through 30 US office locations and an office in Peru.

GLA is currently seeking an experienced full-time Senior Civil Engineer to support civil/site infrastructure, solid waste, and environmental remediation projects. Projects will focus on facility siting, design, and permitting, and may also include general civil and geotechnical design, stormwater design, redevelopment, environmental remediation, and regulatory compliance.

Office Location: St. Charles, Illinois

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as senior project manager and technical lead.
  • Prepare and review engineering designs and construction documents.
  • Act as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies to facilitate permitting, compliance documentation, and regulatory negotiations under local, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Lead technical reviews of engineering drawings, grading plans, cross-sections, and aerial imagery to support site evaluations, design optimization, and construction quality.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff, ensuring adherence to best practices in landfill design, environmental compliance, and data interpretation.
  • Support project budgeting, scheduling, and quality control to ensure the successful delivery of solid waste projects across all phases of development.

This role is well-suited for an experienced civil engineer with geotechnical expertise.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering, or related field,
  • Illinois Professional Engineer (PE) License,
  • 10 years of previous work experience in geotechnical, site/civil, and stormwater design,
  • Project management, client management, proposal writing, oral, and written communication skills, capability to work well individually and in groups/teams,

Candidate Must:

  • Be eligible to work in the United States
  • Posses a valid driver's license and maintain a driving record acceptable to our insurer
