ABOUT THE COMPANY:

BCR - Buckeye Construction & Restoration is a specialty contractor focused on the repair, restoration, and modification of masonry, concrete, and steel structures. PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The primary responsibility of the Construction Project Engineer will be to provide valuable support to our Project Managers and Project Estimators throughout all phases of the project lifecycle. You will play a critical role in ensuring the successful completion of projects within established budgets, timelines, and quality standards.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Project Estimators: Work closely with the project management team and estimators to understand project requirements, goals, and constraints. Assist in the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Estimating quantities and costs: Based on the provided plans and specifications, the project engineer should assist in estimating the quantities of materials, labor hours, equipment and subcontractors needed for the project.
  • Project Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, technical specifications, as-built drawings, shop drawings, and reports.
  • Coordination and Communication: Facilitate effective communication among project stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams. Coordinate project activities and resources to ensure timely project execution.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise and support to project teams. Conduct research, feasibility studies, and cost analysis for proposed solutions. Assist in evaluating and selecting vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor project progress and performance to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications. Identify and resolve any issues or deviations from project requirements. Conduct inspections and tests as necessary.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies. Assist in monitoring and managing project risks throughout the project lifecycle. Contribute to the development of contingency plans.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement. Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices and standard operating procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management, or a related field is desired, but not required if management experience exceeds a minimum of (2) years.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with diverse stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Team Player: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment. Willingness to contribute to the success of the overall project team.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
