Job description

Overview
It is the responsibility of the Retail Sales Associate to maintain a consistent image and a comfortable shopping environment for customers in keeping with the Golden Nugget standards. This position must also exhibit a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the Company's brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P. - Kindness, Engagement, Empathy and Positivity)
Responsibilities
  • Greet all customers cheerfully; ring sales on the register, give correct change and sales receipt and bag merchandise.
  • Promptly and courteously answer telephones within two rings and take accurate messages when necessary.
  • Maintain floor standards, customer service standards and use selling skills.
  • Fold, hang, and maintain stock on/in racks, shelves, glass cases and armoires.
  • Assist in preparing for a physical inventory and work during physical inventory.
  • Do shift housekeeping duties to include shelves, fixtures and glass areas.
  • Order paper supplies (wrapping, boxes, bags, and tissue and office supplies).
  • Cash out (includes counting cash, checks, charges, comps and completing settlement cards and envelope). Write information on cashier report and return drawer to satellite cage.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, administrative, multi-tasking, organization and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), fluent English and articulate.
  • Must be capable of lifting and moving heavy objects.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must have good people skills and a well-groomed appearance.
  • Must read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Must be able to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently, independently and cohesively, consistently producing quality results.
  • Minimum age requirement is 21.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Retail experience and customer oriented.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Basic math skills.
Language Skills:
Must be able to speak and understand English.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to move throughout the hotel (standing, walking, kneeling, and bending) for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
  • Ability to regularly move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 50 pounds.
  • Constantly walking up to distances of 500 ft. during shift.
  • Frequently stooping, reaching.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Work performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment. There are occasional hot and cold temperature changes.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a smoke-filled environment.
  • Work with others in close spaces.
  • Moderate to high noise levels.
  • Walk/stand on tile/mats/carpet/cement.
