Entuitive is looking for an Intermediate Building Envelope Specialist, based in our Toronto office that will focus primarily on new construction projects, with additional exposure to existing buildings projects. What will you do?

  • Execution of projects within the realm of building envelope consulting such as the design and performance of building envelope systems for new buildings
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on small to large scale projects through effective project management, coordination, and participation in the delivery of projects to maintain a high level of service.
  • Assist with research of new products and systems as needed for servicing your portfolio of projects.
  • Provide building envelope design assistance, drawing and specification review for new construction projects.
  • Building envelope condition assessments and forensic investigations, including field work, quantity takeoffs, budget estimates, and report writing.
  • Work with Entuitive’s BIM team to develop drawings and details for existing building projects.
  • Computer aided analysis of building envelope details and performance.
  • Assisting with the preparation of tender specifications, drawings, and sketches.
  • Field review and other contract administrative duties as required.

Requirements

What do you need to succeed?

  • 5+ years’ work experience in building envelope consulting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in building science, engineering or architecture; or equivalent training.
  • Registration as a P.Eng. or P.L.Eng. or eligibility for registration is considered an asset.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in French, both written and verbal, is considered an asset.
  • Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, precise, and well‑structured reports, assessments, and technical documentation is considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to manage complex situations with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills with ability to manage scope, schedule and budget.
  • Must be willing to work at heights, including climbing ladders, working on swing stages, and elevated platforms.
  • Demonstrated expertise in building science, including heat, air, and moisture transfer mechanisms and their combined impacts on enclosure durability, indoor environmental quality, and long‑term performance.
  • Comprehensive understanding of thermal bridging and building performance, including clear‑field, linear, and point transmission losses, with the ability to assess impacts on heat loss, condensation risk, energy efficiency, and enclosure resilience.
  • Knowledge of embodied carbon, climate resiliency, and adaptation strategies is considered an asset.
  • Experience in building‑enclosure simulation tools, such as THERM, Flixo, HEAT3, or WUFI, for modeling heat transfer, moisture transport, and hygrothermal performance is considered an asset, including the ability to interpret results and apply them to design optimization and detail development.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle and maintain throughout employment.
  • Access to a passport and desire to travel for work is an asset.
