We provide civil/site design and land surveying, environmental, geotechnical, construction administration & inspection, transportation design (roadway, bridges), accident reconstruction, roofing/building envelope, A/V system design, troubleshooting and installation, and specialized testing services to the construction industry.

We are looking for a mid to senior-level Project Manager who will play a key role in leading, growing, and managing our Building Envelope and Roof Engineering division. Youโ€™ll leverage your expertise in the Roofing/Building Envelope arena and creative problem-solving skills while collaborating closely with institutions/municipal agencies, Architects, Engineers, and project teams to deliver customized assessments and solutions for our clients that exceed expectations. From initial concept development/assessment to final installation, this role will guide projects through every stage of the design/assessment/troubleshooting process, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.

Highlights:

  • The projects will be primarily in Ohio.
  • Travel requirements will be based on the client requirements โ€“ minimal overnight stays (about 10% to 20% of the time).
  • A company vehicle can be provided or if you prefer, you can use your personal vehicle and get reimbursed.

Responsibilities:

  • Successfully lead, grow and manage our Building Envelope and Roof Engineering Projects.
  • Lead the process of Performing Property Condition Assessments to aid clients in managing facilities assets by examining the building envelope assembly and/ or roof structure from both inside and out.
  • Evaluate Roof Structures and Building envelopes including Roof, Building cladding such as Masonry, Curtain walls, etc.
  • Perform water penetration testing and recommend mitigation or repair measures.
  • Predict and diagnose deficiencies - water intrusion, background in corrosion mechanisms and prevention, strong understanding of codes, technical standards and specifications as well as fenestration systems design.
  • Develop and/or monitor construction budgeting and schedules.
  • Works independently on broad projects under the direction of the Department Manager with training and supervisory responsibilities for direct reports.
  • Manages/oversees attention to the details of a clientโ€™s facility and provides customized designs, a critical component when conducting remedial work.
  • Observes and reports on building envelope testing and construction then relays performance aspects to the various teams.
  • Manages client development and retention through skill and ability in growing the service market and being comfortable with regularly interacting with potential clients and maintaining existing relationships.
  • Train/mentor/develop the lesser-experienced Team members.

Requirements:

  • 5-10+ years of experience including the ability to define the scope of work, prepare proposals and manage projects in the Building Envelope and Roofing Structure arenas.
  • Experience in Property Condition Assessments, building surveys, testing and analysis, and design experience for building envelope and roof remediation.
  • Expertise in research and investigation of existing structures, strong background in forensic evaluation.
  • Experience with performing infrared surveys and nuclear moisture surveys is preferred.
  • Accreditations/licensure:
    • RRO or RRC accreditation is a strong plus โ€ฆ orโ€ฆ
    • Architecture design experience and Licensed Architect is a strong plus โ€ฆ orโ€ฆ
    • Civil Engineer is a strong plus
      • (If not a registered Engineer or Architect, the ability to become registered within 2 years is preferred).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Leadership and good communication skills.
  • Ability to lead a team and work cross functionally with other teams.
  • Knowledge of in-depth design, and installation of the primary building envelope materials, as well as emerging technologies with building exteriors.
  • Ability to manage a maintenance program and provide expert testimony when needed.
  • Strong knowledge of CAD, Microsoft office, etc.

Education:

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering preferred
