Job Description:
Position Summary: Quality Specialists are responsible for auditing product & raw materials while advising production & operations team members as process sustainment or adjustments are required to meet or exceed customer requirements.
Essential Functions:
  • In-person attendance.
  • Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of in-process raw materials or finished goods.
  • Receive and inspect raw materials.
  • Test & interpret results, compare them to established specifications and control limits, and make recommendations on appropriateness of data for release.
  • Participate in out-of-specification and failure investigations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Perform visual inspections of finished products.
  • Serve as a technical liaison between quality control and other departments, vendors, or contractors.
  • May train others including operators from production departments.
  • May use general hand tools (such as hammers) and office supplies (such as staplers).
  • Supports, maintains and sustains 6S initiatives.
  • Supports Continuous Improvement by participating in and sustaining the MasterBrand Production System (MPS).
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge and Experience:
  • Read tape measures, measure parts, caliper, read order tickets.
  • Ability to identify parts necessary to assemble cabinets doors, drawers and/or complete cabinets by species, size and style.
  • Knowledge of procedures for the safe and proper handling of hazardous chemicals and materials.
  • Understanding of decimal/fraction/metric calculation and conversion.
  • Learn to identify cabinet profiles and colors involved in cabinet manufacturing.
  • Utilizes electronic email & document management software, and imaging / measurement equipment.

General Requirements:
  • Read, write, comprehend and carry out all written and verbal departmental instructions.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work area, giving safety of self and others a priority.
  • Follow all established safety practices and procedures, including reading and understanding material and safety data sheets, lockout policy, and entanglement policy.
