Title: Production Quality Inspector 

Reports To: Quality Assurance Manager 

Overview:

Scope of Position:

The Quality Inspector is responsible for verifying product quality, process compliance, traceability, controlled inventory accountability, and documentation accuracy throughout receiving, production, and product release activities. The position supports the Quality Management System (QMS) through inspection, verification, documentation, containment, and investigation of support activities.

The Quality Inspector may be assigned additional responsibilities, projects, and quality system activities based on business needs, competency, training, and department requirements.

Responsibilities: 

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final quality inspections.
  • Verify conformance to customer requirements, specifications, approved samples, and job documentation.
  • Verify completion of First Piece Approval (FPA), In-Process Inspection, and Quality Pull requirements.
  • Assess incoming and outgoing materials for conformance.
  • Escalate quality concerns that may impact product quality or customer requirements.
  • Identify, document, and report non conformances and deviations.
  • Support containment and control of nonconforming material.
  • Inspect and evaluate nonconforming materials and products.
  • Provide records, samples, and objective evidence to support investigations and corrective actions.
  • Verify product identification, traceability, and controlled inventory requirements.
  • Support receiving, issuing, reconciliation, and accountability activities for controlled inventory.
  • Verify traceability and inventory records are complete and accurate.
  • Escalate traceability concerns, inventory discrepancies, and accountability issues.
  • Verify compliance with SOPs, work instructions, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Maintain accurate quality records and objective evidence.
  • Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits as required.
  • Support training and competency verification activities when requested.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and corrective actions.
  • Participate in problem-solving and continual improvement activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve quality, compliance, and operational effectiveness.

Qualifications 

Required: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Inspection, or a manufacturing-related role.
  • Familiarity with quality systems, SOPs, and documentation requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer systems.

Preferred: 

  • Experience in print finishing, packaging, commercial printing, or related manufacturing environment.
  • Experience performing inspections and supporting quality investigations.
  • Experience with product traceability, controlled inventory, or material reconciliation activities.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, cGMP principles, FSC Chain of Custody, or similar quality systems.
