Job description

Quality Control Technician Position Overview 2nd Shift
The 1st Shift Quality Control Technician tests and inspects products and material at various stages of production, compiles, and evaluates statistical data, maintains records, and provides reports to determine and maintain quality and reliability of product.
Quality Control Technician Essential Functions
  • Verifies quantities and condition of all incoming material.
  • Inspects and tests products and materials for compliance with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
  • Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
  • Records and analyzes test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
  • Maintains and documents the integrity of equipment used in inspection, measuring and testing products.
  • Participates on multi-disciplinary teams for product quality planning.
  • Performs other duties that may be assigned.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures.
  • Ability to draft reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers and employees.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to use inspection, test, and measurement equipment.

Quality Control Technician Required Experience
  • Proven experience as a quality control technician or similar role.
  • The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), computer skills and gauge experience helpful.

Quality Control Technician Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Frequently required lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds.
  • Frequently required standing, bending, squatting, and reaching with hands and arms.
  • Regularly required to stand for extended periods, walk, talk, and hear.
  • Ability to use hand tools.
  • Ability to read applicable instructions.
