Supplier Quality Engineer Job Description

The Supplier Quality Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of materials and components used in Hithium’s battery module, battery pack and battery container manufacturing process. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing quality control plans at the supplier, conducting supplier audits, and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to identify and resolve quality issues. As a Supplier Quality Engineer, your role will also involve communicating well with internal and external teams, conducting failure analysis and initiating continuous improvement programs to keep improving manufacturing efficiency to achieve Hithium’s quality and cost reduction goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement quality control plans for suppliers, including inspection procedures, acceptance criteria, and corrective action plans.

• Conduct audits of suppliers' facilities and quality systems to assess their capabilities and compliance with Industry standards.

• Analyze quality data and identify trends to proactively address potential issues.

• Work with suppliers to develop and implement corrective actions for identified quality problems.

• Maintain clear and concise documentation of all quality activities, including audits, reports, and corrective actions.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as manufacturing, engineering, and procurement, to ensure quality requirements are met.

• Identify trends and priorities by organizing and graphing/charting data.

• Apply project management and/or systems engineering tools to complete complex tasks.

• Stay up to date on industry’s best practices and quality standards.

• Plan, organize, direct, and report all activities and matters relating to supplier performance.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supplier quality engineering role.

• Experience with conducting supplier audits and developing quality control plans.

• Ability to communicate and direct supplier activities at the management level.

• Proven results in meeting customer requirements and expectations.

• Ability to define and execute a project using project management techniques.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

• Mandarin speaking is a plus.

• Familiar with ISO9001 QMS requirements. IATF16949 is a plus.

• Experience with BESS components a plus.

• Experience with quality management software a plus.
