Job Description
The quality Control Technician is responsible for inspecting structural steel parts and assemblies during pre-fabrication and post-fabrication to ensure compliance with quality standards. This role maintains detailed documentation of inspections and testing while working closely with production teams to ensure product quality. The technician reviews shop drawings, verifies weld quality, and identifies nonconforming materials or processes. This position supports safety initiatives, continuous improvement efforts, and overall quality performance within the manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Inspect structural steel parts and assemblies during pre-fabrication and post-fabrication processes
  • Maintain accurate documentation of quality inspections, testing records, and corrective actions
  • Review and interpret shop drawings, weld symbols, and specifications to verify product accuracy
  • Identify and report nonconforming products, equipment issues, or safety concerns
  • Collaborate with production and management teams to maintain quality standards and continuous improvement
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in the structural steel, welding, or fabrication industry
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and AWS weld callouts
  • Experience with GMAW (MIG) welding; FCAW (Flux Core) experience preferred
  • Familiarity with inspection tools, layout tools, and hand/power tools including grinders and measuring devices
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in varying shop and environmental conditions

The base salary range for this position is $24-30 per hour, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity.
