Job description

Micro Lab Technician – Sample Logging

Overview: We are seeking an entry-level Micro Lab Technician to join our dynamic Microbiology Lab team, operating under the Quality Control Unit. In this role, you will be responsible for logging samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and compositing samples for Microbiological Quality Control Testing. This is a great opportunity for individuals with an interest in microbiology and quality control in a lab setting. The position will involve working in both the manufacturing area and the microbiology laboratory, depending on the tasks at hand. Once trained, occasional weekend work may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Log samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
  • Composite samples for Microbiological Quality Control Testing
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment
  • Maintain accurate records of tests, sample handling, and laboratory activities
  • Calibrate equipment as necessary to ensure accurate test results
  • Assist with other laboratory tasks as assigned by leadership

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Team Player: Flexible and willing to collaborate with others
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure precision in sample handling, logging, and testing
  • Communication: Ability to report issues to leadership and escalate as needed
  • Physical Capability: Ability to sit, stand, and lift up to 50lbs as required by the job

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and test methods
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
  • Education: 2 years of college in a science related field and/or demonstrated experience in microbiology laboratory procedures

Additional Information:

  • This is a first shift position.
  • Once fully trained, occasional weekend work may be required.
