Job description

We are seeking a part-time laboratory technician who will be self-motivated and able to work independently as a laboratory technician at Passaic County Community College.

This is an entry level, hourly position for 15 hours per week.

Example of Duties:

  • Preparation of laboratory solution for Lab experiments.
  • Handling of living organisms and chemicals.
  • Organize daily laboratory equipment in classrooms.
  • Perform measurements, filtrations, dilutions.
  • Prepare and label chemical solutions.
  • Properly dispose of laboratory waste and excess sample materials.
  • Perform routine maintenance of equipment and inventory.
  • Maintain a clean preparation work area.
  • Manage, send and receive materials from different campuses.
  • Capable of adjusting to rapid changing priorities.

Qualifications:

  • One (1) year of education in Chemistry or Biology at a college or university level.
  • Computer skills related to Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Competent communication and reasoning skills.

The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.

Compensation: Compensation is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The minimum hourly pay for this position is $15.92.
