  • Location: Middlesex, VT (Onsite)
  • Job/Employment Type: Full Time
  • Department: Office & Administration

The Opportunity:

You will serve as the central owner of the employee experience at Kingsbury Companies, managing consistent people practices that attract, onboard, develop, and retain a skilled construction workforce. This role gives you the autonomy to shape onboarding, training, employee relations, and development programs from end to end while acting as the direct link between company leadership and its recruiting partner. You will build a long-term HR career with a company that promotes from within and invests heavily in its people.

How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Serve as the primary liaison with the company's recruiting partner, keeping hiring priorities, candidate expectations, and staffing needs clearly communicated and aligned.
  • Coordinate the full onboarding process from offer acceptance through successful field or departmental placement, ensuring new hires have the resources and training to become productive quickly.
  • Administer company training programs, including scheduling, completion tracking, record maintenance, and coordination of internal and external development opportunities.
  • Provide employee relations support by serving as a trusted resource for employees and managers on workplace concerns, performance issues, and consistent policy application.
  • Manage the employee review process, including schedules, documentation, completion tracking, and follow-up on goals and professional development commitments.
  • Conduct compensation benchmarking to support leadership in evaluating pay structures, market competitiveness, and internal equity.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution by guiding productive conversations, documenting concerns, and escalating significant employee relations matters when appropriate.
  • Coordinate the company's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives, including annual education, communication, and activities that promote an inclusive culture.
  • Support HR compliance by maintaining required documentation, monitoring changes in employment regulations, and assisting with policy development and implementation.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional human resources experience; this is not an entry-level position.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and demonstrated experience keeping HR practices compliant and consistently applied.
  • Proven experience coordinating onboarding, training administration, or employee development programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive employee relations matters with discretion, sound judgment, and thorough documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills with a track record of managing schedules, records, and follow-up across multiple concurrent HR processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working across office, field, and leadership teams.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • Prior HR experience within the construction, heavy civil, or skilled trades industries.
  • Experience conducting compensation benchmarking and supporting pay structure or internal equity reviews.
  • Background supporting performance review cycles, career pathing, mentorship, or succession planning programs.
  • Experience coordinating DEI initiatives or company-wide workforce development efforts.
  • HR certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Weekly pay cycle and a competitive salary structure.
  • 401(k) retirement savings program with employer matching.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Life and disability insurance options.
  • Paid time off for holidays, vacation, and sick leave.
  • Wellness reimbursements and referral bonuses.
  • Access to paid training, mentorship, and professional development programs.
