Job description

State of Idaho - Department of Administration Opportunity
Looking for a solid work/life balance, steady paycheck, great benefits, and an opportunity to serve the great state of Idaho? The Department of Administration is looking for a Technical Records Specialist 1 to join the Risk Management Department , a team of professionals dedicated to protecting the state's assets and reducing the risk of loss. The TRS1 will provide technical and general clerical support in the claims process. Join us and be part of one of the most diverse agencies in Idaho State Government, located in the heart of the Capitol Mall area in beautiful downtown Boise.
We serve Idaho by promoting responsible government through expert customer support.
Example of Duties:
  • Reviews and processes documents;
  • Receives, refers, and monitors new incident reports and claims;
  • Maintains a manual or computerized records system;
  • Continuously tracks attorney bills and payments;
  • Provides assistance and support in the claims process if approved to do so;
  • Maintains retention schedule for all Risk documents including claim and underwriting records;
  • Responsible for the organization of risk forums, conferences, and other training events;
  • General office duties including answering client questions, ordering supplies, maintaining the TRS desk manual, and office filing;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience:
  • Monitoring a records system to identify and correct errors;
  • Researching a variety of sources to resolve problems;
  • Interpreting, explaining and applying regulations, laws, or complex policies to carry out assignments;
  • Entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system.

Please note: The successful candidate will be required to pass a fingerprint-based background check.
This position will also interact with a diverse customer base and must be able to interact in a non-partisan manner when working in political environments.
