Job Summary:

NXP is a global leader in the manufacture of semiconductors for automotive, mobile, communication, and smart applications. The Physical Analysis Labs (PAL) are responsible for maintaining quality control over a diverse array of manufacturing chemicals, monitoring contamination on both wafers and in the ambient environment, and assisting in investigations with the goal of identifying root-causes of observed failures.

This group is highly self-motivated, responsible, reliable, and takes pride in the quality of our work. The selected candidate will be afforded opportunities to exercise their initiative, freedom to manage their workload responsibly throughout the day, and have the opportunity for mentoring in semiconductor manufacturing by experienced and capable engineers and chemists.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Working with a large variety of analytical instrumentation and techniques such as: VPD-ICP-MS, HPLC, HPIC, TOC, ICP-MS, GC-PDD/TCD/FID/MS, Raman and XRF Spectroscopy, Titration Analysis, Cyclic Voltammetry

  • Attention to detail is imperative

  • Some flexibility for shifts/hours needed

  • Reliability and dependability is extremely critical to this position

  • Must be a fast-learner, with ability to work with little supervision

  • Candidate will be hired as an intern with the possibility of conversion

  • Always work with an eye towards safety

Key Challenges:

  • Work is in both wet lab and cleanroom lab environments

  • Routine work with extremely hazardous chemicals is required

Job Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in a scientific discipline such as Chemistry or Materials Science

  • In order to be considered for a summer internship with NXP you must be returning to school or graduating at the conclusion of the internship term. If you are graduating prior to July 2027 please apply to Entry Level full-time roles.
