Business Development Representative - PeakLogix
PeakLogix is seeking a full-time Business Development Representative to support proactive lead generation, outbound prospecting, discovery, and qualified opportunity development for warehouse automation, systems integration, and operational improvement solutions. This role is generally remote, with occasional travel for meetings, training, customer visits, trade shows, and field time with sales representatives.
Key Job Responsibilities
  • Generate and develop new leads through outbound calls, emails, LinkedIn, marketing follow-up, referrals, and targeted account research.
  • Follow up on inbound leads, CRM leads, website activity, email campaign engagement, ad campaign responses, and other marketing initiatives.
  • Maintain and expand a database of prospects within assigned markets, territories, or target accounts.
  • Identify companies with potential warehouse automation, fulfillment, distribution, labor, space, throughput, or systems integration needs.
  • Conduct discovery conversations to understand customer operations, pain points, growth plans, facility needs, and improvement opportunities.
  • Identify decision makers and influencers in operations, supply chain, logistics, warehouse, engineering, continuous improvement, and IT roles.
  • Enter and maintain accurate company, contact, activity, lead, nurture, and opportunity information in CRM.
  • Create quality opportunities when customer need, authority, and intent are present.
  • Coordinate clear, complete handoffs to PeakLogix Sales when sales engagement is justified.
  • Nurture early-stage accounts and create timely follow-up tasks when opportunities are not yet ready for escalation.
  • Develop a working understanding of PeakLogix solutions, including warehouse automation, conveyor, sortation, robotics, WMS/WCS, systems integration, project management, and lifecycle services.
  • Attend training, internal meetings, and assigned field time as needed to build product, industry, territory, and customer knowledge.
  • Meet assigned activity, lead generation, opportunity development, and follow-up goals.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Business Development, and other internal teams to support pipeline growth and consistent prospecting execution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Prerequisites / Qualifications
  • Previous outbound prospecting experience is required.
  • Previous business development experience with a systems integrator, supply chain solutions provider, warehouse automation company, logistics/distribution company, industrial technology provider, or similar business is required.
  • Experience supporting complex, longer-cycle solution sales is required.
  • Previous CRM experience is required, such as Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, HubSpot, or similar platforms.
  • Previous pipeline management, lead management, or opportunity tracking experience is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-up discipline.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify immediate concerns and respond quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to ask effective discovery questions, understand customer needs, and identify immediate concerns or opportunities.
  • Ability to apply common sense, follow instructions, and work through customer or process questions in a practical way.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while producing high-quality, well-documented leads.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations, fulfillment, picking, conveyor, robotics, WMS/WCS, or operational improvement concepts preferred.
  • Desire to build a long-term career in business development, sales, or sales support within a complex solutions environment.

Work Environment
  • Generally remote or office-based role with occasional travel for meetings, training, customer visits, trade shows, or field time with sales representatives.
  • Regular use of a computer, phone, and standard office equipment.
