Description

As a member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to be part of something truly special - crafting delicious food that brings joy to people's lives. You'll play a vital role in upholding stringent food safety standards, ensuring top-notch product quality, and collaboratively achieving our goals alongside our dedicated team. Moreover, as a family-owned certified B Corporation, you'll actively engage with our broader community, with a strong focus on enhancing employee satisfaction and fostering community engagement. Join us on our journey not only to create exceptional food but also to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our employees and the communities we serve.

We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Accountant to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Controller, you'll gain hands-on experience across a variety of accounting and financial activities while helping ensure the accuracy and integrity of Rhino's financial operations. From financial reporting and reconciliations to budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and fixed asset accounting, you'll have the opportunity to build your skills, contribute to meaningful financial processes, and grow your understanding of how Finance supports the broader business.

What you'll accomplish:

Financial Reporting & Accounting Operations

  • Prepare and support accurate financial reporting, including financial statements, journal entries, account reconciliations, inventory accounting, and month-end and year-end close activities.
  • Maintain the integrity of financial records, ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures, and support audits, regulatory reporting, and banking requirements.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, while maintaining accurate records for Rhino and affiliated real estate entities.

Financial Planning, Analysis & Cash Management

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis by evaluating business performance, monitoring variances, and providing insights to support decision-making.
  • Partner with finance and cross-functional teams to support P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow projections.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, leverage technology, and enhance operational efficiency.

Fixed Assets & Capital Management

  • Manage fixed asset accounting activities, including tracking capital expenditures, maintaining asset records, monitoring work-in-progress projects, recording depreciation and amortization, and coordinating asset disposals.
  • Partner with operational teams to ensure capital investments are accurately recorded and properly capitalized.

Insurance, Credit & Business Support

  • Support insurance administration, including annual renewals, policy documentation, and insurance verification requests.
  • Assist with customer credit reviews, credit limit recommendations, and collection activities for accounts that fall outside payment terms.

Requirements

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Entry-level accounting or finance experience through coursework, internships, co-ops, or previous work experience.
  • Foundational understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting practices.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze information, identify discrepancies, and approach problems with curiosity and sound judgment.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly and effectively.
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets, financial systems, and data, with a willingness to learn new tools and technology.
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Collaborative approach and willingness to learn, ask questions, share knowledge, and support teammates.
  • Interest in developing skills across accounting, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and other areas of finance.
  • Ability to utilize email, Microsoft applications, and other internal software for daily communication between facilities, shifts, and departments.

Compensation & Employment Requirements:

Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000
