Collections Analyst

Entry level- Bachelor's degree, no experience!

Job Description

The Collections Analyst plays a key role in managing billing, collections, and accounts receivable activities in a high-volume environment. This position focuses on engaging with customers to secure timely payments, resolving billing and cash application issues, and maintaining accurate and current account records. The role also supports audits, analytical reporting, and process improvements while collaborating closely with internal teams to ensure billing accuracy and strong customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Contact customers via phone and email to secure timely payments, resolve concerns, and maintain positive relationships.
  • Investigate and correct billing discrepancies to ensure accurate invoices and account records.
  • Proactively manage a portfolio of accounts to reduce past-due balances and keep accounts current.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve cash application errors to ensure payments are applied correctly.
  • Research and resolve chargeback deductions and related disputes.
  • Issue and distribute invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Process new contracts and sales to ensure proper billing setup and documentation.
  • Collaborate with other departments to verify billing details and maintain billing accuracy.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Experience preparing and presenting analytical reports to stakeholders.
  • Background supporting monthly and quarterly audits.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Work Environment

This is an in-office role, Monday through Friday. Start times are flexible, with the option to begin as early as 7:00 a.m. or as late as 8:30 a.m. Employees may take either a half-hour or one-hour lunch break.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Louis, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
