Job description

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct project Pre-Task Plans (PTP's) with project crews and submit them to the General Contractor for review.
  • Attend all project safety meetings and classes.
  • Conduct daily site inspections and walkthroughs; identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Monitor PPE use, excavation, lockout/tagout, hot work, material handling and other high-risk operations.
  • Verify work permits and ensure control measures are in place and understood.
  • Observe work activities; stop unsafe work.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses and property damage; document findings, root causes and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Deliver or coordinate site safety orientations and toolbox talks.
  • Liaise with project management, contractors, subcontractors, clients and regulatory agencies on safety matters.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, company policies and client requirements.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Minimum of 1 years' experience in field / jobsite construction safety.
  • Must have OSHA 30 in construction.
  • OSHA 510 certification Preferred.
  • Must be willing to travel- this job will be based out of Abilene, Texas.
  • A working knowledge of heavy equipment and excavation safety.
  • Bi-lingual required.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Products.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills are required.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrates high level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and make quick decisions in the event of unforeseen situations.
  • Ability to do presentations in meetings or training environments.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job which include, but are not limited to walking, bending, pushing, pulling, sitting, squatting, and occasionally lifting and carrying.
Compensation
Compensation will correspond with experience, qualifications and certifications; competitive benefits package available.
  • Start pay $21 per hour
