The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies.  Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes.  IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

Position Summary

The intern will join the Technology Operations team, supporting Microsoft 365 services for a global workforce. The role provides practical experience monitoring and remediating issues, supporting project and production deployments, partnering with frontline support teams, and improving operational documentation and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain collaboration services with a focus on Microsoft 365.
  • Use knowledge-base and solution documentation to manage incident and task-related work.
  • Support users during project-based and production deployments of Microsoft 365 technologies.
  • Collaborate with first- and second-level support teams on training, education, and issue resolution.
  • Identify, develop, and document operational processes and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Manage multiple tasks or issues while communicating effectively with users and support groups.

Requirements

  • Student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Windows environments, and web-based applications.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, teamwork, adaptability, and task-management skills.
  • Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2027 (May-August 2027) with a graduation date of December 2027 or later
  • Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity.
  • Be willing to work at the posted job location

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in Microsoft 365 administration, collaboration services, IT operations, or customer support.
  • Experience using documentation and structured troubleshooting to resolve technical issues.

​The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
