Job description

Position Summary:

To provide assistance to the IT Networking Department in supporting students and system users by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (other duties may be assigned)

  1. Assist with Network Setup and Configuration: Participate in the setup and configuration of network devices such as switches, uninterrupted power supplies, and access points.
  2. Troubleshoot Network Issues: Diagnose and resolve network problems by assisting in troubleshooting activities.
  3. Network Monitoring and Analysis: Learn and use network monitoring tools to observe network traffic, performance metrics, and security events.
  4. Assist with Network Security Measures: Participate in implementing and maintaining network security measures, such as network access controls.
  5. Perform Documentation and Reporting: Assist in documenting network configurations, procedures, and incidents.

Education

Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university is required, with preferred education including completion of a relevant degree program such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience

  • Enrollment in graduate courses in a related graduate program at Misericordia University. (Maximum 18 credit courses/per academic year)
  • Prior leadership or supervision experience is perferred.
  • Strong administrative, managerial, and interpersonal skills and computer competency required.
