Job description

Long® Fence is currently seeking candidates for a full-time CAD Drafter for Iron Detailing in its Corporate Headquarters located in Capitol Heights, MD. Candidates will be expected to go out into the field for detailing of projects.

Qualified candidates will be responsible for providing assistance to both the Commercial and Residential Divisions in the area of CAD and Iron detailing.

Qualified individuals will have a minimum of 3 years AutoCAD experience.

Candidates should have the ability to read blue prints and take-offs in order to compose plans for fabrication / permitting.

Desired qualifications required for this position include a full understanding of all aspects of miscellaneous metal fabrication.

Candidates should have thorough knowledge of the current building codes such as IBC, ICC and ANSL.

Duties will include traveling to jobsites located in the Washington, DC and Baltimore Geographical areas.

Long® Fence produces a variety of aluminum railings, decks, screened porches and sun rooms all of which require plans /specs for fabrication.

Skills should include the ability to read and understand plans, field measuring, and layout of metal work in field conditions.

You will be responsible for transferring the field details to shop drawings and build sheets.

The applicant will be responsible for projects from start through completion.

Qualified individuals will be responsible for interfacing with the sales managers, project managers, sales associates and the fabrication departments.

Candidates will be expected to go out into the field for detailing of projects.

Applicants should have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Additionally, applicants must hold and maintain a Valid Driver's License and Clean Driving Record.
