Facilities Maintenance Technician I

We are seeking a dependable and hands-on Facilities Maintenance Technician I to support the daily operation, maintenance, and upkeep of our facilities. This entry-level position is responsible for performing general building maintenance, preventive maintenance activities, repairs, event support, and occasional custodial duties to help maintain a safe, clean, and functional work environment.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, enjoys troubleshooting and problem-solving, takes pride in their work, and can effectively work both independently and as part of a team.

What You'll Do
  • Perform routine facility maintenance and repairs, including basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, lighting, furniture assembly, and equipment repairs.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance programs, facility inspections, and repair projects.
  • Troubleshoot maintenance issues and coordinate complex repairs with management or vendors.
  • Complete work orders accurately and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas.
  • Support meeting and event setups, furniture moves, office reconfigurations, and basic audiovisual needs.
  • Assist contractors and vendors with facility maintenance and improvement projects.
  • Perform custodial duties as needed to maintain clean, safe, and functional facilities.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures while promoting a safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with employees, vendors, and departments to support facility operations.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, custodial services, construction trades, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and general carpentry.
  • Experience safely operating hand and power tools.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
