Job description

Eaton's North American Sales division is currently seeking a Field Project Manager. This hybrid role will be located in our Austin, TX, Baton Rouge, LA, San Antonio, TX, El Paso, TX, Dallas, TX or Houston, TX facility.
What you'll do:
The primary function of a Field Based Project Manager (PM) is to allow for greater levels of Sales productivity by fully engaging in and taking ownership of all post purchase order (PO) activities. The PM role is expected to create value for the Eaton sales team, product divisions and customers, acting as the primary liaison between internal and external stakeholders, ensuring all project milestones are met. The project manager is ultimately responsible for the successful execution of the largest, most complex and highest risk electrical projects sold at Eaton (from order entry to order closeout). This position focuses on industrial projects within the Gulf Region.
In this function you will:
  • Maximize profits on projects by defining project scope and risks, managing change control and costs, and working closely with engineering, finance, and operations. Conduct regular meetings on project progress with Sales and Field Project Management, Order Engineering, Operations, Engineering, Contracts and Finance.
  • Build internal and external relationships to facilitate execution of the project management process.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to perform order transition from sales and clean order entry.
  • Be fully aware of the contract for the design of the project, and of the client's objectives to ensure contract requirements are met and overall client satisfaction.
  • Be well-versed with the Master Services and Procurement Agreement, pricing structures, equipment needs, etc.
  • Build and maintain a project communications plan, maintaining strong customer relationships (including our rep agents and channel partners) throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Build, maintain and communicate a project schedule (milestone matrix) with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure all project details and financial/schedule records are maintained in Eaton's proprietary project management software.

Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 5 years of project management, sales, engineering or related experience
  • Possess a valid and unrestricted driver's license
  • Relocation assistance is not provided. All candidates must currently reside within a 50 mile radius of Austin, TX, Baton Rouge, LA, San Antonio, TX, El Paso, TX, Dallas, TX or Houston, TX

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of major competitors in the industrial market and their alignment with key stakeholders and major customers.
  • Knowledge on plant front-end scheduling, engineering, and manufacturing process and equipment cycle times.
  • Posses advanced computer skills in advanced word processing, spreadsheet, and general use of electronic tools.
  • Consistent demonstration of planning, leading, and communication.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and situations to achieve superior proactive project order management and customer service.
  • Ability to interact at a high level with decision makers yielding positive results for internal and external stakeholders.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $97,500 - $143,000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
