Job description

Printing and Scanning Technician needed for our government client in Towson. The Printing and Scanning Technician will provide in-house printing and scanning services. Six month contract position. The non-negotiable pay rate is $18.00 per hour.
Essential Duties:

  • Program and prepare jobs for printing, Color printing, Photographic reductions and enlargements, punching, binding and folding.
  • Place orders for printing supplies.
  • Maintain daily print job production logs and daily delivery manifests.
  • Setup, program and release jobs from print queue.
  • Monitor quality of job output for correctness and image quality.
  • Manages the copier leases.
  • Manages vendors for out-sourced printing services.
  • Removing binding elements, locating, and removing obstructions to pages, optimizing pages for capture process, and correctly organizing the files for scanning (based on instruction).
  • Operating and maintaining equipment and capture software, feeding documents, reviewing images for quality, and achieving minimum production requirements.
  • Data Entry (Indexing): Includes alpha/numeric typing and/or capturing of required data (based on instruction).
  • Deleting blank pages that were missed during processing and rotating pages to ensure correct orientation.
  • In some cases, reordering pages will also be required.
  • Checking images and data for quality and accuracy along with the quality of scanned images.


Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent with 3 plus years of work experience in printing and scanning is required.
  • Ability to lift cartons weighing up to 50 pounds, as required.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and work independently.
  • Must have strong attention to detail with focus on Quality Control and Indexing.
  • Must be able to use various scanning and viewing equipment and tools to ensure accuracy and quality while meeting goals and requirements.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively is required.
  • Knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office, the Internet, and other internal applications necessary to complete routine and moderately complex tasks is required.
  • Must be able to work from 7:00 am-3:30 pm, 7:30 am-4:00 pm or 8:00 am-4:30 pm Monday through Friday with availability to work outside of those hours once or twice a year for special projects.
