Job Description:
Assist experienced welders with preparing materials, operating equipment, and maintaining a safe work environment to support the welding process
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assists Welder I and Welder II in various welding tasks as directed.

  • Prepares workpieces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and scraping as necessary.

  • Helps set up welding equipment and tools under supervision.

  • Handles and stores welding materials and equipment properly.

  • Operates power tools and hand tools under guidance.

  • Reads and interprets basic welding blueprints and instructions.

  • Assists in tack welding components together for final welding.

  • Supports Welder I and Welder II in maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

  • Learns and follows safety procedures and guidelines at all times.

  • Assists in training and mentoring new helpers as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements:
This is an entry level position. Must be at least 18 years of age.
Essential Mental Functions:
• Communicates effectively in written and spoken form.
• Possesses excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
• Exhibits good decision making and analytical problem solving abilities.
• Demonstrates strong multi-tasking capabilities and organizational skills.
• Works effectively in a team environment.

Essential Physical Functions:
• Lift up to 50lbs.
• Sit or stand for up to 95 percent of work hours.
• Periodic visits to the manufacturing facility with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.
