Job description

You don’t need a resume full of sales experience. You need drive, a thick skin, and a genuine hunger to win. SchooLinks is one of Texas’s fastest-growing SaaS companies, and we’re looking for our next Business Development Representative, someone who wants to earn their way into a high-growth sales career starting now.

This isn’t just a job. It’s a structured launchpad. You’ll get weekly sales training from day one, a clear path to Account Executive roles, and a team that genuinely invests in your growth.

Who We Are

SchooLinks is the #1 college and career readiness platform in the country, partnering with school districts to help students figure out who they are and where they’re going. Our mission matters — and selling it is easier when you believe in it.

What You’ll Do

Your job is to open doors. You’ll be the first voice prospects hear from SchooLinks, and your goal is to spark conversations that turn into opportunities.

  • Own your territory: cold call and email school district prospects daily
  • Research accounts, personalize outreach, and qualify inbound and outbound leads
  • Schedule demos and hand warm opportunities off to Account Executives
  • Maintain clean records in Salesforce so nothing falls through the cracks
  • Hit (and beat) weekly and monthly activity targets
  • Collaborate with marketing on campaigns that generate pipeline
  • Stay sharp on product updates, pricing, and market trends

Your Growth Path

We promote from within. Our top BDRs move into Account Executive roles with higher base pay and uncapped commission. The only thing that limits how fast you move is your performance.

Where You’ll Work

You’ll be in our Austin office three days a week. For a role built on coaching, competition, and quick feedback loops, being in the room matters. You’ll ramp faster sitting next to your manager and teammates than you ever would on a call and the energy of a sales floor is something you have to experience to understand.

Requirements

We care far more about how you’re wired than what’s on your resume.

  • You genuinely want to start a career in software sales — not just any job
  • Rejection doesn’t rattle you; it motivates you to sharpen your approach
  • You thrive in fast-moving, competitive environments where the scoreboard is visible
  • You’re clear, confident, and compelling when you communicate — in writing and on the phone
  • You hold yourself accountable and don’t wait to be told what to do next
  • You lift the people around you, not just yourself

Prior sales experience is a plus, not a requirement. If you’re a recent grad, career changer, or someone who’s been waiting for the right door to knock on — this is it.

Benefits

Compensation is $45,000 base salary + variable comp with on-target earnings of $66,600. Your commission structure rewards consistent activity and qualified pipeline — not just closed deals.

  • 100% health insurance coverage for employees
  • 401(k) with company matching
  • Dental & vision
  • Parental leave
  • Subsidized gym membership
  • Remote work stipend
  • Annual team offsite
