Job description

Window Treatment Installer – All Levels (Technician I–III / Installation Lead) – Lutek Shading Systems

Lutek Shading Systems is a premier manufacturer and installer of custom architectural shading solutions. We specialize in delivering high-quality, innovative products for commercial and residential projects. As our field operations team continues to grow, we are hiring installers at every level — from entry-level technicians to experienced crew leads. We hire the right person wherever they fall on that range, and we promote from within.

Position Summary

Install manual and motorized window coverings — shades, blinds, draperies, and motorized systems — on commercial job sites throughout the Denver metro area and beyond. Where you start and what you earn depends on your experience. Entry-level Technicians support the crew and learn the trade; experienced Technicians work independently on complex installs; Installation Leads run field measures, manage schedules, and serve as the on-site point of contact for General Contractors and Project Managers. Strong installers move up the ladder, take on harder work, and lead crews.

Career Path

  • Installation Technician I — Entry level. Installs basic products and supports the crew. No prior shade experience required.
  • Installation Technician II — 1+ year experience. Works with minimal supervision; handles intermediate manual and motorized systems.
  • Installation Technician III — 2+ years experience. Works independently, runs complex installs, and trains junior technicians.
  • Installation Lead — Leads crews, performs and documents field measures, manages daily schedules, and is the primary field point of contact for GCs and Project Managers.

Relevant experience may be substituted for required experience at Lutek’s discretion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install basic to advanced level window treatment products to Lutek's quality standards.
  • Perform and read field measures accurately (experienced Technicians and Leads).
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, GC Superintendents, and the manufacturing team to keep jobs on schedule.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve field issues.
  • Accurately relay notes and issues to management and the office, and complete accurate daily paperwork.

Qualifications

  • Reliable, safety-minded, and a team player who shows up on time.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work at height on ladders, scaffolding, and lifts.
  • Able to read a tape measure to the nearest 1/8 inch.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience installing commercial window coverings (shades, blinds, draperies, motorized systems) — required for higher levels, not for Technician I.
  • Ability to read construction drawings, manufacturer specs, and field measures.
  • Familiarity with commercial construction project scheduling and coordinating with GC superintendents.
  • Spider lift, scissor lift, and height access certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • OSHA 30-Hour or OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Range: $22.00 – $33.00/hr, based on experience and level.
  • Pay increases and expanded responsibilities as you advance through the technician levels to Installation Lead.
  • Company vehicle a potential for Installation Leads and experienced Technicians.
  • All employees enrolled in company profit sharing.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) with company match; paid time off and holidays.

Work Environment

  • Each day begins and ends at Lutek's headquarters at 5315 Xenon St, Arvada, CO, with field work performed on commercial job sites throughout the Denver metro area and beyond.
  • Work schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM, with some Fridays on call.
  • Out-of-town travel required occasionally; per diem provided.
  • Full-time position.

Our Core Values

  • Safety Above All Else — We never compromise on the safety of our team, our customers, or our job sites.
  • Seek Challenge — We embrace growth, continuous improvement, and the drive to do better.
  • Do What You Say — We follow through on our commitments to customers, teammates, and each other.
  • Pride in Work — We take ownership of every project and hold ourselves to the highest standard of craftsmanship.
  • Be a Team Player — We are committed to supporting each other in everything we do.
