What does an entry level window cleaner do?

An entry level window cleaner is responsible for cleaning windows on both residential and commercial buildings, typically using tools like squeegees, scrubbers, and cleaning solutions. Their duties may include removing dirt, grime, and smudges from glass surfaces, as well as cleaning window frames and sills. They often work under the supervision of more experienced cleaners and follow safety protocols, especially when working on ladders or at heights. Entry level window cleaners may also handle customer service tasks, such as communicating with clients about their cleaning needs and ensuring satisfaction with the job. This role serves as a starting point for those interested in advancing within the cleaning or building maintenance industry.

These skills ensure high-quality service, customer satisfaction, and safe work practices in various environments.

Job description

OCDetailing, Inc. is the Bay Area’s premier automotive paint protection service provider. Since 2012, we have built a reputation for precision, high-end craftsmanship, and industry leadership. We specialize in custom paint protection film (PPF), ceramic coatings, window tint, and color-change transformations for discerning clients and high-value vehicles.

We are not an entry-level shop. We work on exotics, Teslas, luxury vehicles, and full custom transformations. We are looking for an experienced installer who can operate at that level.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Paint Protection Film Installer who can confidently execute full vehicle wraps from start to finish.

This position is for someone who is already skilled in bulk installations, edge wrapping, panel alignment, and clean finishing. You must be capable of handling full PPF wraps independently while maintaining the high standards our clientele expects.

This is not a training role. We are looking for someone ready to contribute immediately.

General Accountabilities

  • Perform full vehicle PPF wraps (bulk and/or pre-cut systems) with precision.
  • Execute full front-end packages and custom coverage installs.
  • Wrap and tuck edges cleanly for seamless finishes.
  • Install matte, satin, gloss, and colored PPF.
  • Disassemble and reassemble panels when required for proper film installation.
  • Identify and correct imperfections prior to film application.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Communicate clearly with management regarding timelines and vehicle status.
  • Ensure all installations meet OCDetailing’s quality control standards.
  • Participate in 2–3 week follow-up inspections when needed.
Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–3+ years of professional PPF installation experience.
  • Proven ability to complete full vehicle wraps independently.
  • Strong experience with bulk installs and edge wrapping.
  • Comfortable working on high-end, luxury, and exotic vehicles.
  • Deep understanding of film behavior, stretch control, and contamination prevention.
  • High attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Experience

  • Experience with ULTRAFIT, XPEL, STEK, or similar premium films.
  • Experience with color PPF or matte/satin finishes.
  • Basic disassembly/reassembly knowledge.
  • Ceramic coating application experience (a plus, not required).
Skills

Precision & Craftsmanship
Ability to produce clean edges, minimize tension lines, and avoid lift or silvering.

Time Management
Capable of completing full wraps within production timelines without sacrificing quality.

Problem Solving
Able to navigate complex curves, tight edges, and challenging panels.

Team Collaboration
Works well alongside other installers and shop staff in a production environment.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity for precision trimming and stretching.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver vehicle panels and equipment when necessary.
What We Offer

  • Competitive pay based on experience and production capability.
  • Health and retirement benefits.
  • Holiday pay.
  • Stable workload with consistent high-end vehicles.
  • Supportive team culture with low turnover.
  • Weekly team lunches and team-building events.
  • Long-term career growth opportunities.
  • Employee discounts on detailing services.
  • Clean, climate-controlled facility with professional equipment.
Background Check and Drug Testing Policy

OCDetailing, Inc. complies with all California state employment laws. A background check will be conducted following a conditional offer of employment. We maintain a drug-free workplace. Pre-employment drug testing may be required in accordance with California law.

Join Our Team

If you are an experienced installer who takes pride in precision work, seamless edges, and delivering high-end results, this is an opportunity to step into a professional, fast-paced environment serving premium clientele.
