POSITION DETAILS: This position is for a 52 week Grass Crew. 5 days per week at 8 hours per day. The current scheduled work time is 6:00am - 2:30pm. Off Season scheduled work time is 2:45pm - 11:15pm. Additionally, EVSC also has Health & Wellness Centers that provide free primary and preventive care services to employees and their dependents covered by an EVSC group health insurance plan. 
This position also offers sick and personal days as well as EVSC contributions to a retirement plan.

SUMMARY:
Maintain the lawn for EVSC properties as well as perform custodial duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Other duties may be assigned.


  • Mow lawn on EVSC properties including weed eating and weed control.
  • Safely operate, maintain and repair lawn equipment.
  • Clean and preserve designated spaces, equipment, etc. in the building and school grounds.
  • Assist in maintaining seasonal grounds work such as weather related issues and lawn.
  • Restock disposable items and provide head custodian with inventory usage and data.
  • Assist community partners with set up for various events on the school campus.
  • Communicate any maintenance issues to the Head Custodian.
  • Maintain exterior doors' security for school campus.
  • Create electronic work orders in work order system providing detailed, accurate information; Review status to ensure completion of work order.
  • Utilize aerial lifts and scaffolds as needed for various projects.
  • Perform head custodian duties in their absence as needed.
  • Frequently monitor email communication and respond accordingly in a timely manner.
  • Complete monthly safety training program.
  • Maintains regular attendance.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, students, staff and the community.
  • Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and School Board of Trustees' policies.
  • Ability to perform basic computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Google systems.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Individual must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record. Must obtain and maintain a chauffeur's license.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:











  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blue prints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before small groups.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as pricing, discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
  • Ability to read tape measure and calculate in feet, inches and fractions.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

  • Employee is occasionally required to perform the same hand, arm or finger motion many times.
