Job description

Client Overview:
Our client is a growing life sciences manufacturing organization specializing in the development and production of high-quality products within a GMP-regulated environment. They are currently looking to add a Junior Chemical or Mechanical Engineer (Entry-Level) to their team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience while contributing to continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$24/hr - $30/hr
Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a Junior Chemical or Mechanical Engineer (Entry-Level) to support daily operations and engineering applications. This role is ideal for an individual with up to two years of experience who enjoys working in a collaborative team environment, solving problems, and being hands-on with equipment and processes. The successful candidate will assist with data collection and analysis, validation activities, documentation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement projects. This is a strong developmental opportunity to gain exposure to engineering systems, heat exchange processes, GMP operations, and cross-functional project work.
Responsibilities of the Junior Chemical or Mechanical Engineer (Entry-Level):
  • Support day-to-day activities associated with engineering systems.
  • Collect, track, analyze, and summarize operational and process data.
  • Assist with Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) activities.
  • Prepare technical reports, summaries, and documentation related to validation and process performance.
  • Monitor system performance and support troubleshooting efforts by gathering information and documenting findings.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Operations, Production, Maintenance, and R&D teams.
  • Analyze process workflows to identify opportunities for improvement and streamlining.
Required Experience/Skills for the Junior Chemical or Mechanical Engineer (Entry-Level):
  • Basic understanding of engineering systems and process equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to collect, organize, and interpret technical data.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced engineering environment.
  • Strong work ethic with a commitment to teamwork and continuous learning.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Junior Chemical or Mechanical Engineer (Entry-Level):
  • Internship, co-op, research, contract, or relevant project experience.
  • Exposure to GMP-regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supporting validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ).
  • Knowledge of water systems, utility systems, or process equipment.
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience preparing technical documentation and engineering reports.
  • Exposure to quality systems or regulated industries such as pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or chemical manufacturing.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is required.
