This curiosity and uncommon collaboration fuel our culture and drive ideas that continuously improve our practice and the people who are part of it.

LandDesign is seeking an entry-level Survey Field Technician to join our team and support land development projects. This role is a great opportunity for someone interested in surveying, civil engineering, or construction to gain hands-on field experience.

You will work alongside experienced surveyors and engineers to collect field data and assist with surveys for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. Training will be provided on modern surveying equipment and field procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily field survey operations on land development projects
  • Support boundary and topographic surveys used for site planning and design
  • Help perform construction staking for roads, utilities, buildings, and storm drainage systems
  • Set up and operate survey equipment such as GPS (RTK), robotic total stations, and data collectors (training provided)
  • Collect and record accurate field data for use by engineers and designers
  • Assist in locating property corners, right-of-way lines, easements, and utilities
  • Maintain organized electronic data and field notes
  • Help maintain and transport survey equipment safely and properly
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Willingness to learn new tools, technology, and field techniques
  • Ability to follow direction and work well as part of a team
  • Dependable, punctual, and safety-minded
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Work Environment:

This position involves primarily outdoor work on active construction sites and undeveloped properties. Work may include walking through uneven terrain, wooded areas, and working in varying weather conditions.

All interested candidates are encouraged to submit their cover letter and resume directly through our website.

Employees are offered a competitive compensation package and robust benefits package that includes access to wellness programming, 401k retirement plan, paid holidays, paid time off, paid parental leave, paid volunteer hours, health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurances.

LandDesign is an equal opportunity employer and values a diverse workplace.
