Job description

About Us
Trovy is redefining home equity lending with a new generation of products that combine the flexibility of card-based payments with the power of secured real estate lending. Backed by top-tier venture capital investors, Trovy is led by a team of proven fintech innovators dedicated to reshaping how consumers access and manage credit.
Role Overview
At Trovy, the lines between design, engineering, and product are blurring. This new role involves a hybrid of design craft and shipping code. We're looking for a design-trained early-career person who either has experience shipping AI-assisted code to production, or who's excited to learn. You won't hand off a Figma file and hope for the best; you'll design the page and then build it, using AI coding tools as a core part of how you work.
You'll own the surfaces where most people meet Trovy for the first time: our marketing site, landing pages, campaign microsites, and the interactive pieces that make a complex financial product feel simple and tangible. You'll help develop our nascent brand's look and feel, all while iterating quickly to drive our conversion metrics.
This is an entry-level role for someone early in their career who has design training and good taste, who has taught themselves to ship real code, is eager to develop a competency in the new world of design engineering, and wants to work somewhere their work goes live in days rather than quarters.
What you'll do
  • Design and build web pages end to end. From a brief or a rough direction, take a design from Figma to production - layout, type, motion, responsive behavior, the whole thing. You'll work closely with our lead product designer to ensure visual and messaging consistency between marketing and product experiences.
  • Ship code to production. With training from our talented FE team, you'll work in our codebase, open pull requests, respond to review, and deploy. AI tools like Claude will be your primary way of getting from design intent to working code, and part of the job is getting genuinely good at directing them.
  • Extend our design system. Keep the site consistent as our company and product offering expands.
  • Iterate quickly to drive conversion metrics. Turn campaign concepts into landing pages fast, wire up analytics, and iterate based on what actually converts.
  • Work inside compliance constraints. We're a licensed lender. APR figures, disclosures, and footnotes on our pages are legally binding. You'll work closely with our marketing and legal teams to design for and around these constraints to ensure a compliant and trustworthy customer experience.

What we're looking for
  • An online portfolio. We care much more about what you've made than where you went to school or what your degree says.
  • Web design fundamentals. Familiarity with typography, layout, hierarchy, color, and motion. A working understanding of responsive web design. Competency in Figma.
  • Discerning and excited to learn. In this new world of working alongside AI, your judgement, curiosity and taste are paramount to success. You don't just accept whatever an AI hands you. You know the questions to ask, the output to ignore, the choices only you can make.
  • Experience with AI coding tools. Claude, Cursor, or similar, as an everyday tool. Just as important: the judgment to review, test, and take responsibility for what comes out.
  • High agency. We're an early-state startup; every team member is responsible for our success. You find the thing that needs doing and do it. You ask when you're stuck, and you're comfortable being the only person who owns a given surface.

You do not need a computer science degree, prior full-time experience, or a background in fintech. This is a first- or second job. We're excited to mentor and train you.
Nice to have
  • Experience with a modern web framework (Astro, Next.js, React) and Tailwind
  • Motion or 3D work - Framer Motion, GSAP, Three.js, WebGL
  • Anything you've shipped and shown publicly: a side project, an open-source component, a personal site
  • Familiarity with analytics and A/B testing tools
  • Interest in financial products

Compensation and benefits
  • Compensation: Base Salary: $110,000 - $125,000 + Equity
  • Market Opportunity: Join a team tackling the $30T home equity market.
  • Early Impact: Help shape our operations from the ground up.
  • Ownership: Competitive salary, meaningful equity, and room to grow.
  • Location: On-site, New York City.
  • Benefits: 401K account, 100% company-paid dental, medical, vision and life insurance, flexible time off, free lunch in-office every week, and more!
