Sydnor Hydro, a UFT company is a construction and equipment supply company specializing in groundwater and wastewater systems and products. We serve federal, state, and municipal governments as well as industrial, commercial, and recreational customers throughout Virginia and in eastern North Carolina, South Carolina, and Maryland.
 
 

Sydnor Hydro is seeking a motivated Maintenance Warehouse Assistant to join our growing team! This is a great opportunity for someone looking to start their career with a company that supports critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the region.
 
In this hands-on role, you will assist with warehouse operations, equipment organization, inventory support, and general maintenance responsibilities while gaining exposure to the water and wastewater industry. This position requires working on-site Monday- Friday from 7:30-4:30 and  local travel to customer sites. 
What you'll do:
  • Support daily warehouse operations by accurately stocking, organizing, receiving, and pulling materials for customer orders, project needs, and inventory management activities
  • Perform local delivery routes to transport materials and equipment to customers, job sites, and company locations while providing professional customer service
  • Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to load, unload, move, and stage materials throughout the warehouse and yard
  • Assist with facility maintenance and general upkeep to help maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment both inside the warehouse and throughout the property, including general lawn care.
  • Learn and develop working knowledge of industrial products including pipe, valves, fittings, and related equipment to support counter sales, customer requests, and day-to-day warehouse operations
  • Collaborate with warehouse, service, and sales teams to ensure materials are prepared, organized, and available to support ongoing projects and customer needs
  • Follow company safety procedures, inventory processes, and operational standards to support efficient warehouse and delivery operations
What you bring:
  • This is an entry level position, no experience is required and training will be provided.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required
  • Experience in warehouse operations, or material handling, or delivery driving, or facility maintenance is a plus
  • Experience stocking, organizing, pulling, and staging materials in a warehouse or industrial setting a plus
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment
  • Comfortable making local deliveries and operating company vehicles in a safe and professional manner
  • Interest in learning industrial products such as pipe, valves, fittings, and related water and wastewater equipment
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently, stay organized, and support a fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to lift and move materials, work on your feet throughout the day, and perform general physical warehouse duties
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment
  • Ability to lift between 40 - 50 pounds
  • Valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and current auto insurance is required
$17 - $22 an hour
