Job description

The City of Three Rivers is seeking applicants for the entry-level position of Water Operator Jr. Under the direction of the Water Superintendent, this position will be responsible for the hands-on operation and maintenance of the Cityโ€™s drinking water production, quality, distribution, storage, and metering system. In this capacity, the individual keeps the Cityโ€™s water system in compliance with State Act 399 and Federal Drinking Water Act and all rules and regulations established by governing agencies. Since water systems operate 24/7, there may be occasions where hours vary including weekend coverage.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and MI Driverโ€™s License. In a defined timeline, candidate will be required to obtain a Class B CDL with air brake endorsement along with S-4 and D-4 State of Michigan Drinking Water Operator licenses. This is a full-time non-union hourly position with hours M-F 7 am โ€“ 3 pm. Pay is $21.00 per hour with a competitive benefit package.
