Position: Civil Engineer – Entry Level

Reports to: Department Manager – Civil


General Qualities:

- Strong verbal and written skills are required. 

- Is a proactive self-starter. 

- Provides technical support. 

- Work well with others in a group setting.

- Capable of developing solutions to problems. 


Responsibilities:

- Site/civil/highway design includes grading, roadway, storm water management, green infrastructure, water and sewer mains, signing, and erosion and sediment control design.

- Preparation of associated calculations, reports, and spreadsheets.

- Working on design teams in all aspects of a given project to develop detailed design documents for construction plans.

- Plan preparation using AutoCAD.

- Field work includes investigations, data collection, sign and roadway infrastructure inventory collection, and observation of soil borings.

Requirements:

Educational/Professional Requirements:

- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.

- Previous internship experience is desired but not required.

- Some exposure to Site/civil/highway design is a plus.

- EIT is desired but not required.

- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred.

- Proficiency in MS Office software.


Physical Requirements:

- Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods (often 6–8 hours a day).

- Maintaining posture while working at a computer.

- Short periods of standing or walking within the office (to printers, meeting rooms, etc.).
