Job description

Sovereign Consulting Inc., an established mid-size environmental consulting/ General Contracting firm, is seeking a full-time Construction Project Engineer with 2-3 years of experience in the Water and Wastewater Industry for the Robbinsville or Mine Hill, NJ office location. This entry level position will be focused on assisting the Project Manager and Superintendent to complete water and wastewater infrastructure projects located within New Jersey. This position will primarily involve construction management tasks; however, we are seeking someone with a more technical/ engineering-based background as this will be beneficial to overseeing projects effectively, training and supervision will be provided until the candidate is proficient in their daily tasks. Due to successful growth, we are looking to add team members and opportunity for career growth. Professional Engineers are on staff and promote continuing education, including obtaining of professional licenses with cost reimbursement programs.


Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with engineers, utility owners and field crews
  • Review construction specifications and drawings
  • Ability to travel to the site and participate in meetings, coordination of subcontractors, material procurement with superintendents
  • Procure, review and organize shop drawings of materials and equipment
  • Participate in quality control inspections and review
  • Scheduling inspections and updating the project schedule
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Adhere to Sovereign Consulting Inc. Health & Safety Standards in all field-related activities

Requirements:

  • Technical knowledge/aptitude in water and wastewater field
  • 4 Year Engineering Degree preferred, but not required
  • 2-3 years of related experience
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification or willingness to obtain
  • 8-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER Supervisor Training or willingness to obtain
  • 10-Hour or 30-Hour Construction Training or willingness to obtain
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Project โ€“ Basic level
  • Must have a good driving record
