Automotive Service Advisor

Matt Bowers Hyundai | Slidell, LA

Matt Bowers Hyundai is seeking a personable, customer-focused Service Advisor to serve as the primary liaison between our customers and service technicians. This role is essential to delivering an exceptional service experience while ensuring accurate communication, efficient workflow, and customer satisfaction.

As a Service Advisor, you will greet customers, listen to their concerns, schedule service appointments, estimate repair costs, and coordinate closely with our technician team to ensure repairs are completed accurately and on time.


Key Responsibilities
  • Greet service customers promptly and professionally

  • Listen to customer concerns and document vehicle issues accurately

  • Schedule service appointments and manage repair timelines

  • Consult with technicians regarding required repairs and alternatives

  • Provide clear explanations of recommended services, parts, and repair options

  • Answer customer questions regarding service outcomes, warranties, and costs

  • Coordinate vehicle drop-off and pick-up schedules

  • Conduct vehicle inspections, verify insurance where applicable, and perform test drives as needed

  • Communicate service updates and completion times to customers

  • Maintain positive customer relationships to encourage repeat business

  • Manage service workflow to ensure efficiency and productivity

  • Liaise with parts and technicians to ensure parts availability

  • Accurately review services rendered, explain invoices, and process payments


Qualifications & Requirements
  • Associateโ€™s degree in mechanics or a related field (preferred, not required)

  • Prior experience in automotive service, advising, or related roles (preferred)

  • Strong understanding of automotive technology and the automotive industry

  • Proficiency with dealership and industry-specific software

  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills

  • Strong organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, technicians, and management
