Job description

Description
The Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at NYU seeks to fill Clinical Assistant Professor faculty positions in Mathematics at its Washington Square and Brooklyn campuses. These are non-tenure track appointments. The contract term is typically 3-years and potentially renewable. The primary responsibilities are:
  • teaching and coordinating entry-level courses through multivariable calculus and linear algebra
  • training and evaluating new instructors and teaching assistants
  • curriculum development and assessment
  • other responsibilities related to the undergraduate program

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary (for 9-month) range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

Qualifications
Applicants must have a strong background in advanced Mathematics, including a Ph.D. in Mathematics or a mathematics-related field, as well as experience in and knowledge about undergraduate teaching, learning, and curricular issues.
