Clinvet NY is a global veterinary contract research organization (CRO) specializing in in vitro, preclinical, and clinical trials to evaluate the safety, metabolism, and efficacy of animal health products. Position Summary

The Animal Husbandry Technician Support role is responsible for daily animal care, facility sanitation, and supporting basic research activities. This is a hands-on position requiring physical work and attention to detail in a fast-paced research environment.


Key Responsibilities


Animal Care & Facility Maintenance

  • Feed, water, and provide daily care for animals (including barrier-housed animals)
  • Clean and sanitize animal rooms, cages, and equipment
  • Transfer animals, supplies, and materials as needed
  • Assist with grooming, bathing, and exercise


Research Support (Training Provided)

  • Assist with handling and restraining animals
  • Observe and report changes in animal health or behavior
  • Support specimen collection and basic study procedures
  • Maintain accurate records and data as required


Qualifications

  • Entry-level position, Highschool Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in animal care or laboratory settings is a plus
  • Associate degree or certification in animal science preferred, but not required
  • Veterinary Technician license is a plus


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Ability to stand and remain active for an 8-hour shift
  • Comfortable performing cleaning/sanitation tasks involving animal waste
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Must be fit for duty and able to work safely around animals and equipment


Schedule & Work Environment

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Typical schedule: 7:00 AM 3:30 PM
  • Weekend, holiday, and overtime work may be required


Compensation & Benefits

  • $16.00$18.00 per hour, based on experience
  • Health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance
  • Up to 3 weeks of PTO in the first year (increases with tenure)
  • 401(k) with company match up to 5%
