U.S.VETS—the nation's largest nonprofit dedicated to preventing and ending veteran homelessness—is seeking a Veteran Service Assistant to support daily operations within our Las Vegas residential programs.

This is an entry-level opportunity for someone who is ready to learn, contribute, and be part of a team that supports veterans in real, practical ways.

The Opportunity

As a Veteran Service Assistant, you will help maintain a safe, clean, and structured environment for veterans residing in our programs. You'll support day-to-day operations, assist with basic services, and help ensure that the facility runs smoothly and safely.

You'll work under the guidance of the Veteran Service Coordinator or Lead and gain hands-on experience in a residential services setting.

What You'll Do
  • Support Daily Operations: Assist with basic services such as shelter needs, hygiene supplies, and general client support
  • Maintain a Safe Environment: Help prevent and de-escalate conflicts and follow safety procedures
  • Monitor Facility Conditions: Conduct bed checks, room inspections, and ensure cleanliness and readiness for inspections
  • Assist with Client Needs: Support move-ins, move-outs, and day-to-day client concerns
  • Complete Documentation: Maintain logs, incident reports, and required records accurately
  • Support Facility Upkeep: Assist with cleaning, maintenance coordination, and supply inventory
  • Promote Structure: Help enforce program expectations and maintain a respectful community environment
  • Work as a Team: Communicate with staff and participate in daily operations and support efforts
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience working with people (customer service, hospitality, caregiving, etc.) preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow direction and work within a structured environment
  • Basic computer skills
  • Valid driver's license preferred; must meet insurance requirements if driving company vehicles
