Someburros authentic Mexican family restaurant is looking to hire a full-time or part-time Kitchen Utility / Prep Cook for our Family Kitchen. Do you have a love for great food and thrive in a fast-paced environment? Would you like to work in a fun family environment that radiates warmth? If so, please read on!
This entry-level position earns $16.00 - $18.00/hour, depending on experience, plus pooled tips (approximately $2 more per hour). We also offer our valued employees discounted meals and caterings. Full-time employees are also eligible for medical insurance and a 401(k) plan.
ABOUT SOMEBURROS
Family-owned and -operated since 1986, our fast-casual Mexican restaurant with multiple locations in Arizona uses family recipes. Every dish on the menu tells the unique story of the Vasquez family and their first restaurant, "Poncho's," which opened in South Phoenix in 1972, showcasing the family's signature, time-tested recipes for authentic Sonoran-style Mexican Food. Slow-cooked meats, delicate sauces, fresh chili peppers, seasonal vegetables, and homemade salsas wrapped in warm handmade tortillas proved a hit from the very beginning. Requirements
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A KITCHEN UTILITY / PREP COOK
As a Kitchen Utility / Prep Cook, you arrive each day determined to ensure that every meal that leaves our kitchen lives up to our standards of quality. As a prep cook, you portion and prep food according to our family recipes to ensure consistency, making sure food items are properly stored and rotated. You maintain the cleanliness of food prep areas at all times and follow food sanitation standards to the letter. As a dishwasher and utility team member you will be responsible for helping with cleaning duties, organizing kitchen and warehouse, as well as learning to prep food as you grow.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to be on your feet for a full shift in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Experience is preferred but not required.
  • A great personality, work ethic, and willingness to learn are an absolute must to join our family!
