Job Summary:

The Associate UX/UI Designer supports the design of user-centered digital products by helping to translate user needs into clear, intuitive interfaces. This role will assist with user research activities, help synthesize findings, and contribute to design solutions under the guidance of more senior designers.
Responsibilities include creating and updating wireframes, prototypes, and mockups to communicate design ideas, as well as supporting the use and maintenance of existing style guides and design systems. You will collaborate with product owners, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs are usable, visually consistent, and aligned with project requirements, while gaining hands-on experience with real-world product development processes. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn, grow their design skills, and build a strong foundation in UX/UI best practices within a collaborative team environment.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in producing user-friendly and visually appealing user interfaces, contributing to design work from initial concepts through final delivery under the guidance of senior designers.
  • Help translate complex requirements into clear, intuitive user flows and interface designs that support a positive user experience.
  • Support design decision-making by analyzing design options, gathering input, and presenting recommendations with guidance from more experienced team members.
  • Create and update UI/UX deliverables such as wireframes, user flows, low- and high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, sitemaps, and documentation using established standards and design systems.
  • Develop a growing understanding of user needs and goals by participating in user research initiatives, usability testing, and internal design reviews.
  • Assist senior designers in advocating for the user experience throughout the design and development process.
  • Provide UI/UX design support across multiple teams and projects, helping maintain consistency and adherence to established style guides.
  • Apply basic UX research methods and data insights to support informed design decisions and learn how outcomes are measured and evaluated.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product owners, engineers, and other stakeholders, contributing ideas and incorporating feedback in an iterative design process.
  • Communicate design concepts and rationale clearly in team discussions and reviews, with mentoring as needed to build confidence and presentation skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the design team and organizational goals.

  • HTML5, CSS3, SASS, JavaScript Frameworks (Angular)
  • Fluent in WCAG compliance and ADA design standards
  • Understanding and adherence to support Section 508, AA level compliance ratings for all products along with assurance of ADA compatibility for both digital and print materials
  • Proficiency in Adobe CC and Adobe XD, DevOps, Agile or SEO a plus
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in UX/UI design work for web-based applications
  • Experience working with and contributing to a Design System
  • Experience conducting user research/user testing
