Software Engineer, Level 0 Annapolis Junction, MD Full Time Software Engineer Entry Level Share What You Will Do: As a Software Engineer Level 0 at Independent Software, you will develop, maintain, and enhance software applications supporting mission-critical government systems. Working as part of an experienced engineering team, you will design, code, test, and debug software while contributing to the development of reliable, high-performance solutions. This role is ideal for recent graduates or entry-level software engineers looking to build their careers in a collaborative environment while supporting national security missions. Key Responsibilities:
  * Analyze user requirements to develop software design and performance solutions * Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and components * Debug existing software and resolve defects * Modify existing software to add new features and improve functionality * Integrate software into new or modified operating environments * Develop simple database queries for existing and proposed data repositories * Participate in software testing and document test results * Support software integration and system validation activities * Contribute to software design discussions, including hardware/software tradeoffs and reuse of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) solutions * Follow established software development methodologies and engineering best practices * Collaborate with software engineers and system engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions
Required Skills and Qualifications:
 
* Basic knowledge of software development principles and object-oriented programming * Familiarity with one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, or similar * Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) concepts * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Willingness to learn new technologies and development tools
Education and Experience:
 
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university OR
* Four (4) years of Software Engineering experience on projects utilizing similar software development processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
Clearance Requirement:
