Job description

Collectors is the leading creator of innovative technology that provides value-added services for collectors worldwide. We grade, authenticate, vault, and sell millions of record-setting collectibles, all while modernizing and digitalizing the process to further our mission of helping collectors pursue their passions. We're always on the lookout for talented people to join our growing team.

Our services span collectible trading cards, autographs, comic books, coins, video games, event tickets, and memorabilia. Our subsidiaries include PSA, PCGS, Beckett, SGC, and Card Ladder.

Since our founding in 1986, we have graded and authenticated millions of items. We employ more than 3000 people across our headquarters in Santa Ana, California and offices in New Jersey, Texas, Florida, Japan, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Canada, Mexico, Germany, and France.

As part of our interview process, we request that candidates have their cameras on during video interviews. This helps foster meaningful conversation and allows us to create an experience that closely resembles our standard working environment. Certain interview steps may take place by phone. For remote roles, and at our discretion, candidates may be asked to participate in an on-site interview as part of the final stages of the process.

We understand there may be occasional circumstances requiring accommodation and are happy to discuss them as needed. Your recruiter will be able to clarify expectations and answer any questions you have.

We're looking for an Entry-Level Industrial Maintenance Technician who shares our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement. Join our Engineering and Quality team where you'll play a critical role in maintaining the equipment that protects our collectors' most prized possessions.

You'll report to the Senior Manager of Operations Engineering and work from our Boca Raton, FL office. The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm.

Onsite Requirement:

This role requires you to be onsite in the office 5 days per week. (Only for roles that have to be onsite 5 days per week)

What You'll Do:

  • Get It Right: Perform preventative maintenance tasks on Ultrasonic Welders, Radio-Frequency Welders, Laser Cutters (with filtration systems), Air Compressors and Supply lines, Deionizing Air Guns, Computer Controlled Photographic Cameras, and Heat Sealers to ensure quality production, maintaining the highest standards that our collectors depend on

  • Collaborate with Engineering to develop and track PM schedules for process machinery-seeking feedback early and often to optimize maintenance protocols

  • Perform unplanned maintenance and troubleshooting tasks, putting the skunk on the table by communicating issues promptly so we can resolve them quickly

  • Execute machine upgrades and testing with a Collector Obsession mindset-understanding that every improvement impacts the quality of service we deliver

  • Partner with Engineering and Production to implement maintenance logs, best practices, and operator-led maintenance tasks, bringing out the best in everyone through knowledge sharing

  • Start With Why: Identify opportunities for equipment and process improvements by understanding root causes and foundational issues

  • Work with cross-functional groups to determine standard maintenance procedures that support our long-term vision

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Who You Are:

  • 2+ years of proven, relevant experience as a maintenance tech

  • Hands-on mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical aptitude

  • Ability to work in a deadline-sensitive environment while maintaining quality standards

  • Takes direction well and responds constructively to feedback

  • Written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplying & dividing)

  • Basic computer skills (Email, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office)

  • Bring Out the Best in Everyone: Curious and eager to learn new processes and systems, you ask questions to ensure understanding and share knowledge with teammates

  • Every Item is Special: Strong attention to detail-you understand that every piece of equipment contributes to handling collectors' treasured items

  • Be Kind: You assume positive intent, treat colleagues with respect, and create an inclusive environment

  • Play to Win the Game: You think creatively about solutions and embrace long-term thinking

  • Lead With Integrity: You do the right thing even when no one is watching, prioritizing safety and quality over shortcuts

  • Preferred: Former experience as a mechanic, service technician, machinist, or similar

  • Preferred: Associates Degree in Machining or Welding Technology, Mechatronics Technology, or Facility/Industrial Maintenance Technology

Physical Requirements:

  • Bending and Twisting: Bending neck/waist, twisting neck/waist, and squatting

  • Computer Use: Typing, mouse work, and sitting and looking at a computer potentially for long periods of time

  • Exposure to Machinery: Exposure to machinery noise, which may include noise from forklifts, injection presses, or other machinery

  • Hand Use: Power gripping when using low-precision, high-impact hand tools that require significant force, such as hammer drills and torque wrenches

  • Hearing Requirements: Ability to hear alarms, signals, and verbal instructions

  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift, carry, and move materials up to 50 pounds

  • Sitting or Standing: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time

  • Temperature and Humidity: Occasional exposure to warehouse environments without heating or cooling with fluctuations in temperatures and humidity

  • Walking: Ability to walk for long periods

Hourly Rate: The hourly range for this position is $23 - $27. Actual compensation in this range will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, prior experience, and skill set.
